Last Saturday Ahmed Humaidan, 26 year old photographer, was abducted by civil militias from a shopping center in the Bahraini More than twenty men in plain cloth surrounded the photographer Humaidan inside the shopping center before leading him to an unknown location.
Humaidan’s family members said they had called different security bodies during the first three days of his abduction but security bodies denied to have received any information on his detention.
This incident comes within the regime’s policy to target and silence journalists in order to hide the truth of what is going on in Bahrain.
The regime had tortured to death the publisher Abdul-Karim Fakhrawi and blogger Zakariya al-Ashiri during 2011, and had assassinated the citizen journalist Ahmed Ismail with live ammunition, and tortured the female journalist Naziha Saeed. Tens of journalists have been targeted through arrests, torture and unfair dismissals, which reflects systematic targeting of every effort to deliver the truth of what goes on in Bahrain against the people demanding democracy.
