“We demand the authority to stop using excessive and systematic force against citizens. This official brutality continues in nonstop repressive patterns, the last of which was in Mehazza village that had been besieged and assaulted by the regime forces”, the opposition saidThe opposition societies stressed on its welcome to H.H. the Crown Prince call, as the crisis in Bahrain is an internal one where the people widely demand democracy and this is being faced with an unjustifiable refusal from the authority. And as documented by international human right organizations and the BICI report, only the systematic repression is the response to these pro-democracy demands. More than 100 martyrs, thousands of casualties and arbitrary arrests among the popular pro-democracy stream.
“We agree with the Crown Prince on the necessity of responding to the vast majority of the Bahraini people, which coexist together, and are interested in Bahrain security and its future. They all, look forward to participate in managing the state affairs as they are the source of all powers, as per the modern and civilized democratic principles. Neither listening to the people nor responding to their legitimate demands are examples of absence of wisdom and rationality in Bahrain”.
The opposition societies stated that, “Since Feb 14th and up until now, the situation has become even worse in respect to human rights and politics. And this is acknowledged through human rights organizations and international observers statements. This proves that the security measures adopted by the authority are ineligible to produce a resolution for the political crisis in Bahrain”.
“We welcome the Crown Prince call for dialogue, and we call for this is to be a serious one, in which its parties, agenda, time-frame and decision-making mechanism are all agreed upon. We announce our readiness to engage in this dialogue. However, its outcomes are supposed to be approved by the people of Bahrain who must be the source of all powers. This will give the dialogue the required popular and democratic momentums to succeed”, the Bahraini opposition, also, added.
“We call the international community to play a positive role to make this dialogue true, guarantee its success and implementation of its outcomes”.
